SKINH.COM EXPANDS ONLINE RESOURCES FOR SKIERS AND RIDERS

Online lodging reservations leads list of new services

NORTH WOODSTOCK, NH, NOVEMBER 2007 - The internet has become the most powerful resource for skiers and riders planning their days on snow.  In response to this, Ski New Hampshire is constantly upgrading SkiNH.com and xcSkiNH.com as new technology emerges.  "SkiNH.com and xcSkiNH.com are redesigned every fall in order to keep up with new developments on the web and this winter's additions may be our most important improvements to date," comments Ski NH's Marketing Director Karl Stone.

Among the improvements for the 2007-08 winter season is an agreement signed with ARES Online Lodging.  This partnership will allow visitors to Ski NH's websites to book their lodging while researching their vacation.  Ski NH's nearly 200 lodging members specialize in catering to skiers and riders and will be featured in this lodging module.  It's an easy to use feature that will benefit both guests and the lodging properties.

Websites continue to become more interactive and blogging is one of the most popular ways to create a realtionship with guests.  New for this winter will be a blog on SkiNH.com with updates on everything from weather forecasts and snow storms, to special events and news at NH's ski resorts.  Look for updates to be posted by the Ski NH staff and special guests from the resorts three times per week during the winter months.

Ski NH has long recognized the need to feature images of current conditions on New Hampshire's slopes and trails.  In order to fill this need, the Ski NH staff visit a different ski area every Tuesday during ski season to get fresh footage of current conditions to be posted at SkiNH.com.  Now when visiting the site, guests will find the video directly on the homepage, set to play automatically.

Ski NH has many regular visitors and continues to strive to create relationships with skiers and snowboarders who frequent New Hampshire mountains.  In order to keep these guests up to date on the latest developments and additions at SkiNH.com and xcSkinh.com, RSS feeds will be offered this season.  RSS feeds allow internet users to sign up for notification of significant changes made to Ski NH websites.  Among the items to be included are the blog area, deals page, snow reports, photo of the day, weekly video and more.

In addition to these new features, visitors to Ski NH's websites will also find many other features as well.  Information from the Ski NH magazine is available, supplemented with current snow conditions, daily photos from the slopes around the state, weather forecasts from the summit of Mount Washington, a locator map of ski resorts in New Hampshire, and details on every resort with links to each resort's website.  There's also a great deals section, calendar of events, terrain park guide, tips on getting started in snowsports, details on snowtubing, an order form for Ski NH's magazine, information on Ski NH's Anywhere, Anytime Ticket Packages, details on Ski NH's free skiing programs for 4th and 5th graders, and more.

Visitors to the site can subscribe to Ski NH's email newsletter, full of breaking deals, free tickets and giveaways, and new information that will help make the most of their days on the snow.  For members of the media there is a media center with Ski NH's press kit, recent press releases, an image gallery for publications in need of photos, and b-roll video footage posted weekly during the winter months.

Cross country skiers can visit xcSkiNH.com for detailed information on New Hampshire's cross country areas, including weekly updates on specific regions and resorts, and breaking news from New Hampshire's trails.

Ski NH is the statewide association representing 38 alpine and cross country resorts and more than 200 lodging properties in New Hampshire.  For more information on ski areas, lodging packages, and updated winter events at Ski NH mountain resorts, call Ski NH at (800) 88-SKI-NH (800-887-5464) or visit the Ski NH website at www.SkiNH.com.  For statewide media relations assistance, visit the New Hampshire Division of Travel and Tourism's media room at www.visitnh.gov under Travel Industry.
